Language: use PRING screens and buttons in ja, en and th
By default the PRING settings screen, export dialogs, Document reading and Document links follow the signed-in kintone user's language: Japanese, Thai, and English for everything else. Choose Japanese, English or Thai in Display language (表示言語) at the top right of the settings screen to switch all of these screens. Output button names are separate: set them per template in each language.
Steps
1. Check the user's kintone language
Until you choose Display language, the screen language follows the signed-in kintone user: Japanese, Thai, or English for any other language. To change it, choose the user's language in kintone's personal settings and reload the PRING screen.
2. Open the settings screen and check the language
In kintone, open the app settings, Plugins, and the PRING settings. Tab names, buttons and explanations appear in that user's language.
3. Choose Display language
At the top right of the settings screen, choose Japanese, English or Thai in Display language (表示言語). The screen reloads and the language of the settings screen, the export dialogs on record and list screens, Document reading and Document links switches. The choice is saved in this browser and used next time. If a template has unsaved changes, the language does not switch and the screen asks you to save or cancel first.
4. Enter the button name for each language
On the Templates tab, open a template. Under Button name there are three fields: Japanese (default), English and Thai. These are separate from the screen language, and the field of the screen's language is listed first. The pencil on a row in the template list (Rename button) opens that template and jumps straight to the field of the screen's language.
5. Save and check as a user of that language
Save the template and open the record screen as a user whose kintone language is set to that language. The button shows the name in the user's language. If that field is empty, the Japanese (default) name is used, and if that is empty too, the template ID.
How the language is chosen
Until you choose Display language, the kintone user’s language decides, as in the table. Once you choose, your choice takes priority.
| kintone user’s language | PRING screen (default) |
|---|---|
| Japanese | Japanese |
| Thai | Thai |
| English, Chinese or any other | English |
This covers the settings screen (including the Document reading and Document links tabs) and the export dialogs on record and list screens. The Display language choice is saved in the browser, so record screens opened in kintone in the same browser use the same language. Users who have not chosen see their own kintone language, so Japanese and Thai users can work in the same app side by side.
How the button name is chosen
The button on the record screen shows the first name that exists, in this order:
- The field for the screen’s language (English or Thai)
- The Japanese (default) field
- The template ID
Fixed buttons such as Send email and Bulk export already have Japanese, English and Thai names.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I change the screen language?
Use Display language at the top right of the settings screen. The whole screen reloads and your choice is saved in this browser. If you have not chosen, PRING follows the language of the signed-in kintone user (Japanese, Thai, or English for any other language).
What do users of other languages see?
English, unless they choose another language in Display language. Any language other than Japanese and Thai, such as English, Chinese or Spanish, shows English.
I changed Display language, but the language did not change.
If a template has unsaved changes, the language does not switch. Save or cancel as the screen tells you, then choose it again. After a switch the screen reloads. Other tabs and record screens that are already open change when you reload them.
If I set Display language to English, do the button names become English too?
Output button names are separate fields. The name in the English field of Button name is used on the English screen. If that field is empty, the Japanese (default) name is used.
Is anything not translated?
Yes. The contents of templates (Excel and Word), kintone field names, output file names, the template IDs and button names you type, names and choices that PRING creates in kintone (for example the File Log app's name), and the detailed text of server errors stay as they are.
Which languages is the help site in?
Japanese, English and Thai. You can switch with the language selector at the top of the page.
